Say what! Yes my friends, it may not be your greatest problem, but your Heavenly Father cares about your warts.
I recently read about a young man who had struggled with severe asthma attacks for most of his young life. He prayed that the Lord would heal him, but instead of healing the asthma, He healed the warts that were on his feet. As he wondered to himself why God would choose to heal something he didn’t ask healing for, he heard the audible voice of God speak these words. “ I just wanted you to know that I Am able.”
Let those words resonate and marinate in your spirit for a moment. God wants us to know that He sees our warts. The little pesky things that go unnoticed because of the overwhelming things. We tend to pray about big things, while ignoring the fact that it’s the little foxes that cause the most problems in our lives. A termite problem can remain hidden in a home for a long time. Those little destroyers work unnoticed and undercover for a while, until a trained eye notices the weakness in the foundation, or the area being attacked. A thorough inspection will expose the impending destruction of your beautiful home.
Well the same goes for warts in our lives. Why do we set out to hide them? Because they don’t add anything to our lives worth looking at or mentioning. We try to ignore them, but depending on where they are, they can be a real impediment. Think about the words of Jesus to that young man again. God wants us to trust Him in the little warts and the big asthma attacks. Nothing in our lives goes unnoticed by Him, and nothing in our lives is irrelevant to Him. He cares about all of it. We have been trained to handle the little things and only pray about the big things. But that’s not God’s way.
If we can’t remove the warts, then guess what? They are a big problem. Years ago in my teenage years, I had a horrible wart on the tip of my left index finger above the nail. This wasn’t a hanging wart, this one burst through my skin as if it were growing from a root. Sometimes it would be so big and crusty it would hurt. I’d pick at it, I’d even try to cut it. Nothing I did helped. I’d tuck it into my palm whenever I’d be around people. I can’t tell you when it came, but it was an embarrassment for me. I never thought to pray about it. Then one day as I was on a van traveling home from school. I was sitting next to a man I never knew. I couldn’t even describe him to you. I had my finger hidden as usual, just as I was about to exit the bus the stranger said these words. “ The next time I see you, I don’t want to see that wart on your finger .” How did he see it? I literally was sitting on my hand to hide it. But guess what, the next day it was gone! And I never saw him again. True story.
That wart wasn’t preventing me from doing what I needed to do, but it was an embarrassment for me, and even though I had bigger problems that were more concerning, God chose to remove the wart. I know now that He was showing me that He noticed everything and had me in the palm of His hands-that He is able. He takes care of the tiny details. He has numbered the hairs on our heads. Luke 12:7. So do you have warts that you have told yourself you can live with? God doesn’t want you to. Yes He’s capable of handling the big things, but He wants to remind you through the removal of your warts, that He is available to handle the little things as well. You’ve read my testimony of how the Lord caused the sty on my daughter’s eye to fall off like a scab? If it matters to us, then it matters to Him.
“Look at the birds in the air. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, but your Heavenly Father feeds them. And you know that you are worth much more than the birds.
“And why do you worry about clothes? Look at how the lilies in the field grow. They don’t work or make clothes for themselves. But I tell you that even Solomon with his riches was not dressed as beautifully as one of these flowers. God clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today but tomorrow is thrown into the fire. So you can be even more sure that God will clothe you. Don’t have so little faith!”
Matthew 6:26, 28-30 NCV
“And if you ask for anything in My Name, I will do it for you so that the Father’s glory will be shown through the Son. If you ask Me for anything in My Name, I will do it.”
John 14:13-14 NCV
“Ask, and God will give to you. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will open for you. Yes, everyone who asks will receive. Everyone who searches will find. And everyone who knocks will have the door opened. “If your children ask for bread, which of you would give them a stone? Or if your children ask for a fish, would you give them a snake? Even though you are bad, you know how to give good gifts to your children. How much more your Heavenly Father will give good things to those who ask Him!”
Matthew 7:7-11 NCV
“So I tell you to believe that you have received the things you ask for in prayer, and God will give them to you.” Mark 11:24 NCV
“Until now you have not asked for anything in My Name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy will be the fullest possible joy.” John 16:24 NCV
“The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, endure forever–forsake not the works of Your own hands. Psalm 138:8 AMPC
We have the finest of the finest in medicine today, we have specialists in every medical field. We even send man to the moon. Yet no medical professional can explain the function or purpose of the appendix. Some have even said it’s useless or that it’s left over from when we evolved 🙄. Yet if that little useless appendix gets inflamed and bursts that’s almost certain death to the individual. This much I know- God has used a little organ to confound the brightest minds. He hasn’t put anything in our bodies that is useless or nonessential. They’re just stumped lol. If He’s put it there, it serves a purpose. God cares so much about the appendix that when it’s acting up He gives us a sign. Pain. And even then most doctors misdiagnose it. Since they believe it’s useless, He will never reveal its purpose.
The Lord wants us to believe and trust that He cares for and about every detail of our lives. We may be praying about a big thing, but He sees the pestering warts. He knows that the little insignificant things can eventually lead to bigger problems. Like the termites. A little mole left undetected can become a greater problem later on. God says, I see the big overwhelming giant, he’s too big to miss so he gets all the attention like the asthma attacks, but He’s the One with the inside edge. He sees and knows what we do not. So He takes care of the warts that aren’t a big deal right now, to remind us that He’s able.
If He notices the sparrow and the lilies, then yes, He sees our warts! Don’t hide them any longer. Don’t live with them, let Him remove whatever needs removing. He’s coming after the giants in your life, but first let Him remove the cataracts that impede your vision. Listen for His gentle whispers as well as His outside voice. He’s saying, “I hear your request, I just want you to know, I Am able.” Let His presence, not your breakthrough, be your ultimate goal, and it will change your perspective on the challenges you’re facing.
“So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together for good, for we are His lovers who have been called to fulfill His designed purpose.”
Romans 8:28 TPT
