Anything seen through the eyes of fear, never ends well.
Most of you know the acronym for the word fear. False evidence appearing real.
The mind may be a terrible thing to waste. But a mind controlled by fear can also be a train wreck if not renewed by the Word of God. It will turn assumptions into truths, friends into enemies, ants into giants and perception into misconception. It’s a useful tool and a formidable foe. Whenever fear is sown in the mind and allowed to go unchecked by reality and truth, It can become the ruination of lives, dreams and dynasties. That’s why we are encouraged throughout the Word of God to fear not.
In Exodus chapter one, we encounter fear in the new king of Egypt, who apparently did not know of the contributions that the Jews had made to the survival of all the Egyptians. He saw the growth of allies as a bad thing. It’s obvious by his fearful assessment of the situation that he hadn’t learned the history of his forefathers. It was the wisdom of Joseph that kept Egypt and surrounding territories from being wiped out by famine. But he was seeing his neighbors through the eyes of fear. It’s also obvious that he never took the time to get to know them. Everything was based on the premise of fear.
Whenever fear becomes our first response to any situation in our lives, it will never end well. Fear will let us make decisions in haste, that we will most likely regret. Take abortion for example. Why do most women make the decision to abort their child? Fear. It was unplanned, it wasn’t with someone they wanted a long term relationship with, they can’t afford to have a child right now, it’s an unfortunate inconvenience, they’re ashamed, they’re pressured and lied to by the abortion industry and even family and friends. All this bombardment of the mind filled with fear, leads to a regrettable and irreversible decision. Powered and engineered by the master deceiver himself. See also 2 Samuel 11:1-25
This new pharaoh was having the same trick played on him that was used against David. Get rid of the preconceived problem and all will be well. Satan understood that through the Jews, our Savior and Messiah would one day be born. The extermination of the Jews did not begin in the gas chambers in Auschwitz, it began with eyes filled with fear in Egypt. The Bible says the eye is the lamp or window of the soul.
“Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!”
Matthew 6:22-23 NLT
The king of Egypt was looking through eyes of deep darkness. We know this how? By the plan he put in place to demean and destroy them. Not just those who were alive, but the unborn and future generations. He wanted to reduce the male population and increase the female population. Isn’t that what Satan is doing today? Or haven’t you been paying attention. You think planned parenthood invented partial birth abortion? think again! Do you think homosexuality just came out the closet? Think again. Solomon wisely
wrote in Ecclesiastes 3 that there’s nothing new under the sun. Let’s read what dark fear-filled eyes will do.
“In time, Joseph and all of his brothers died, ending that entire generation. But their descendants, the Israelites, had many children and grandchildren. In fact, they multiplied so greatly that they became extremely powerful and filled the land. Eventually, a new king came to power in Egypt who knew nothing about Joseph or what he had done. He said to his people, “Look, the people of Israel now outnumber us and are stronger than we are. We must make a plan to keep them from growing even more. If we don’t, and if war breaks out, they will join our enemies and fight against us. Then they will escape from the country. ”
Exodus 1:6-10 NLT
Sounds familiar? Let’s continue reading.
“So the Egyptians made the Israelites their slaves. They appointed brutal slave drivers over them, hoping to wear them down with crushing labor. They forced them to build the cities of Pithom and Rameses as supply centers for the king. But the more the Egyptians oppressed them, the more the Israelites multiplied and spread, and the more alarmed the Egyptians became. So the Egyptians worked the people of Israel without mercy. They made their lives bitter, forcing them to mix mortar and make bricks and do all the work in the fields. They were ruthless in all their demands. Then Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, gave this order to the Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah: “When you help the Hebrew women as they give birth, watch as they deliver. If the baby is a boy, kill him; if it is a girl, let her live.””
Exodus 1:11-16 NLT
When that plan didn’t succeed, they stepped it up. The one thing fear will blind us to is that God always has a plan. As a matter of fact He had a four hundred year plan. Genesis 15. God already saw the beginning and the end. The blind and fearful will always miss it. These innocent people were suffering because of someone’s false evidence appearing real. This pharaoh really believed that they were enemies who would eventually turn against them. He didn’t know that God was building a nation for Himself. He didn’t want them living in Egypt, that was a temporary move. The promise was already given to Abraham as to where their inheritance would be. Genesis 17:8. Let’s continue.
“Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: “Throw every newborn Hebrew boy into the Nile River. But you may let the girls live.”Exodus 1:22 NLT
Get rid of the men, and you’ll slow down procreation. As we feminize our men and masculinize our women, we are heading into the same satanic trap. Two men can’t have babies, and two women can’t have babies. They need each of the opposite sex to make that happen. God’s design and plan is the only way. Yeah, they can get surrogates, but guess what, they still have to follow God’s natural law for conception. That was the main purpose for killing the boys.
What has caused our blindness? Is it fear? So we compromised and swapped out truths for lies? Like the pharaoh before him, he had true allies. Yes, they were a large group, but that was also God’s plan Genesis 26:4. But he had nothing to worry about. Do we prejudge others without knowing all the facts? It’s one thing to think that way, it’s quite the other to share it with others and fill them with the same twisted mindset. It’s the same today with this antisemitic misinformation that has permeated our society and world. People lend their voices to things without knowing the facts.
FEAR. To counter that emotion, we need only to find out the root cause of our fears. It may be imagined or real. But as believers in Jesus Christ, we have been instructed not to live in fear. The only fear we are encouraged to have is the reverential fear of the Lord. When we walk in love there is no fear. 1 John 4:18. God through the prophet Isaiah gave us a reason not to fear. Isaiah 41:10. Do not allow fear to blind you to the successes God has for you, or the wonderful relationships He has for you. Fear has its root in the enemy of our souls. Cast down every dark imagination. Allow the Light of Life provided by the Holy Spirit to flood your minds. As the words of a fitting song come to mind, here’s our reason to cast fear aside.
“We’re no longer slaves to fear! We are children of God!”
