5/27/20 - GOD’S GOT YOUR BACK

“Now the king of Aram was at war with Israel. After conferring with his officers, he said, “I will set up my camp in such and such a place.” The man of God sent word to the king of Israel: Beware of passing that place, because the Arameans are going down there.” So the king of Israel checked on the place indicated by the man of God. Time and time again Elisha warned the king, so that he was on his guard in such places. This enraged the king of Aram. He summoned his officers and demanded of them. “Tell me! Which of us is on the side of the king of Israel?” None of us, my lord the king,” said one of his officers, “but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words you speak in your bedroom. “Go find out where he is, the king ordered, so I can send men and capture him.” The report came back: he’s in Dothan. Then he sent horses and chariots and a strong force there. (Stay with me we’re going somewhere) they went by night and surrounded the city. When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” The servant asked. “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them. 2 Kings 6:1-16. Now, I’m going to suggest that you read the rest of the chapter, it will bless you.

Are you feeling surrounded? Feeling like life is closing in on you? Do you feel as though the enemy has more power than your God? Well that answer all depends on who your God/god is. For Elisha, his God was all powerful! Able to subdue nations and armies. Our/my God reveals hidden secrets of the enemy, in our language that’s called spiritual discernment. When you know your God, you can look at all the forces aligned against you and say like little David. “Too big to miss.”

So what or who’s got you cornered or surrounded? Ask the Lord to open your spiritual eyes, so that you can see the supernatural army that God has released to protect you. See Psalm 91

Michael W. Smith’s hit song says in essence to his soul, “It may look like I’m surrounded, but I’m surrounded by YOU.”

So my friends it’s all about perspective. If you see yourself defeated, you already are. So why not make a decision to believe and trust in our God. He always comes through. He’s always there. Stop looking at the size of your problem and look at the size of your God. Don’t talk about the problem, talk about your God who’s bigger than your problems.

Heavenly Father, if I have made you too small in my eyes, please forgive me. Open my eyes like you did for Elisha’s servant and let me see that you have surrounded me with grace and favor, goodness and mercy, loving kindness and a heavenly army. Thank you for reminding me that everything in the natural is subject to change. In Jesus Name. Amen

Don’t be moved by what you see! Be moved by the ONE who sees you.🙏
