5/19/20 - SAY WHAT?

That night God appeared to Solomon and said to Him, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.” Solomon answered God, “You have shown great kindness to David my father and have made me king in his place. Now, Lord God, let your promises to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth. Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?” God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.” 1 Kings 3:5-13

WOW!! OMgoodness!! Question?????

If the Lord was to show up and ask you the same question He asked Solomon, what would your response be? Solomon didn’t stop to think, he didn’t hesitate, he knew what he needed and he asked for it. So don’t stop to think, don’t hesitate, write it down and date it. What would your response be? Your response will reveal your heart.

Yeah! I get it Solomon had a good reason for responding the way he did, but so do we. Years ago, and I do mean years, the Lord asked me that same question. Only the first question was, “How much money do you have in your account?” At the time I had thirty-five cents to my name, in a word I was broke!! I found the date in the column of my amplified bible 😊I told you I write everywhere. It was June 13, 1991. And the scripture He used was from one of my most favorite books of the Bible, Isaiah, and chapter 7:11. I’m here to tell you I did not answer like Solomon, to my shame. But in all fairness to me😔my head went to the original question. How much money do you have in your account? So I asked for the salvation of a few friends and family and then I went in for the kill🤐since I can’t ask what you wrote down you can’t ask either.

Bottom line, what I asked for I didn’t receive, well back up, one person got saved two of the originals are pending. (I honestly don’t know what they’re waiting for)🤦‍♀️And because I needed wisdom to handle my request but didn’t ask for it I never received. (see James 4:2-3) You may be saying, “but God asked you,” true, but without wisdom, knowledge and understanding I would’ve been right back to that thirty-five cents in record time. God knew I had a need, the issue was not in the question, it was with me and where I was spiritually and mentally . Today, my friends, you’re not looking at a millionaire in the natural, but I am one. God has given me more strategies when it comes to finances, and He’s taught and shown me ways to budget and manage the resources He’s given me, I can stretch a penny like a rubber-band lol ask my daughter.

What am I saying? The Bible says the fear of the Lord IS the beginning of wisdom. Proverbs 1:7 see also James 1:5 and Proverbs 4:1-9. This message isn’t about money or how to get it from God. This is more about the position of our hearts.

God wants to bless us in more ways than we can imagine, but can He trust us? Unfortunately most Christians have developed a genie mentality and approach towards God. But first and foremost God is a heart God. What do I mean by that? In the natural we determine our estimation of a person by what we see or think we know of them. But God looks deeper than that, He looks at the heart. My friends you need to do a biblical search of how the heart is viewed in scriptures! Mostly, not so good. Check this one out in Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it?” Ouch

Solomon has led the way in showing us how to respond. Because no matter what we think we need IT will require wisdom, knowledge, understanding, discernment and prudence to be successful and I’m not speaking of the world’s wisdom but godly wisdom. And there is a difference. Bank of America is still trying to figure out how I’m doing it lol but God...... the favor of God will take you places my friends, and give you access to inaccessible things. I’m just saying. Cause He’s God like that. My God, it’s personal so can’t speak for you.

The world boasts of their wealth, I boast about my God. The wisdom of God will make you wiser than whoever the wisest earthly man is today and wealthier without money than the richest man alive today. So my brothers and sisters, if the Lord were to ask you the question He asked Solomon, what would your answer be? Go ahead cross it out, get an eraser or whiteout your original response. Because if you didn’t ask for wisdom, godly wisdom, you may think you’re secure but it’s all smoke and mirrors.

We need first and foremost to develop a healthy reverential Fear of God to walk in the wisdom I’m speaking of. This opens up a door to unlimited resources. We need to honor God in every aspect of our lives. I’m teaching you what I live and have experienced. God has and knows the plans He has for us. Jeremiah 29:11-13 and please read Proverbs 8 my favorite on wisdom. Stop trusting in your intellect God calls it foolishness apart from Him. Let Him lead. After all, He’s the way, truth and life.

My Wonderful Abba! My Precious Savior and friend! Where would I/we be without you? Thank you for being my/our wisdom. Without you, we truly are nothing. In Your great wisdom, you do not give us the things we ask for in our ignorance, but you care for us and bring us to maturity so we are able to handle what you do provide. Thank you for giving us Your Word as a compass. We appreciate and love You for being You, unchanging and unfailing. In Jesus Name. Amen

Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them. Proverbs 4:5🙏
