2/16/21 - YOU’RE NOT TRYING TO BE BLESSED, YOU ARE!

“Then God said, “Let us make mankind in Our image, in Our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:26-28‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The life you’re currently living may not seem like much to you or others, but I’m here to tell you, you were born (again) blessed. God gave Adam dominion over everything He had made. He gave him the power to increase human population and subdue anything that would interfere with the order that had been established by God. That word subdue does not imply passivity. As a matter of fact the definition means: to overcome, quieten, and bring under control. Adam was created blessed to be a blessing to all future image bearers.

When Adam fell prey to sin through disobedience, it seemed all hope was lost. That the curse had replaced the blessing. But the last Adam, Jesus Christ, brought it all back. Before Jesus even came to earth He had already started the process of restoring the blessing through Abraham. Now according to scripture, we have been by believing faith, blessed along with faithful Abraham.

Abraham, our father of faith, led the way as our pioneering example. He believed God and the substance of his faith released God’s righteousness to him. So those who are the true children of Abraham will have the same faith as their father! God’s plan all along was to bring this message of salvation to the nations through the revelation of faith. Long ago God prophesied over Abraham, as the Holy Scriptures say: “Through your example of faith all the nations will be blessed!” And so the blessing of Abraham’s faith is now our blessing too!” Galatians‬ ‭3:6-9‬ ‭TPT‬‬

And since you’ve been united to Jesus the Messiah, you are now Abraham’s “child”

and inherit all the promises of the kingdom realm!”

Galatians‬ ‭3:29‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Another reason we don’t embrace the truth that we’re blessed is something the Holy Spirit revealed to me as I meditated on this subject, immaturity or lack of spiritual knowledge. He led me to this scripture.

In a similar way, God has promised our ancestors something better, but as long as an heir is a minor, he’s not really much different than a servant, although he’s the master over all of them. For until the time appointed by the father when he comes of age, the child is under the domestic supervision of the guardians of the estate.” Galatians‬ ‭4:1-2‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Did you catch that? The heir is no different than a servant, why? Because he’s still a child (immature) but when he comes of age ( understands who he is) then everything will be released to him. Hallelujah! We will continue to live beneath our privileges as long as we remain spiritual babies. We were born (again) blessed. Let’s read a few more verses. I’m so excited! Aren’t you?

And so that we would know for sure that we are His true children, God released the Spirit of Sonship into our hearts—moving us to cry out intimately, “My Father! You’re our true Father!” Now we’re no longer living like slaves under the law, but we enjoy being God’s very own sons and daughters! And because we’re His, we can access everything our Father has

—for we are heirs of God through Jesus, the Messiah! Before we knew God as our Father and we became His children, we were unwitting servants to the powers that be, which are nothing compared to God. But now that we truly know Him and understand how deeply we’re loved by Him, why would we, even for a moment, consider turning back to those weak and feeble principles of religion, as though we were still subject to them?” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭4:6-9‬ ‭TPT‬‬

As soon as we are born again, we become joint heirs together with Christ. What does everything mean? That’s right! EVERYTHING! Wealth, health, authority, dominion, peace, joy, every spiritual, material and physical blessings are ours through Jesus Christ. We have been given access to an unending supply of resources. But until we mature, we continue to be servants in our own inheritances. We get upset when we see others enjoying the benefits of sonship, but we shouldn’t be, it’s ours too. They just grew or woke up to the knowledge of whose they are and what is rightfully theirs as mature sons and daughters. Why would you want someone else being in control of what is rightfully yours? I wrote before that childishness isn’t the same as being childlike. Refusing to grow in the knowledge of God’s Word, is an inheritance blocker.

Everything that belongs to the Father belongs to Me—that’s why I say that the Divine Encourager will receive what is Mine and reveal it to you.”

‭‭John‬ ‭16:15‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Jesus said those words to His disciples. The Holy Spirit will reveal every benefit that is ours in Christ. Again, what does everything mean? Religion tells us that we should be poor, sick and humble. But we can’t find that anywhere in the scriptures. Jesus wasn’t poor and neither were His disciples. Can’t find that in the scriptures either.

And since we are His true children,

we qualify to share all His treasures,

for indeed, we are heirs of God Himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that He is and all that He has. We will experience being co-glorified with Him provided that we accept His sufferings as our own.” Romans‬ ‭8:17‬ ‭TPT‬‬

The things you discover when you search the scriptures. We remain ignorant of these truths, purely from a lack of desire to study His Word or having never being taught. Most preachers shy away from teaching about the blessings we have in Christ because they aren’t experiencing it. But faith proclaims the truth we believe until it manifest in our lives. Another reason they shy away is fear. Fear of being labeled a heretic. I was teaching and sharing what I believed before I even experienced one thing. Then after years of teaching the Holy Spirit said these words to me. “You’ve known me through My Word, but now you need to know Me by experience.” Now whenever I say, He’s my healer, provider, joy, peace, faithful, lover, deliverer, promise keeper, trustworthy friend, it’s no longer theory but experience.

I’m blessed whether I feel like it, or look like it to you. I’m highly favored and deeply loved by the One who owns everything. All I have to do is ask. I’m not a servant I’m an heir. Hallelujah! And you are too if you’ll choose to believe it. Every promise of God has His Yes attached to it. He delivers on His Word. But as wonderful as all those blessings are, I’d rather have Him. I’d rather boast about His ways and not just His acts. He’s too wonderful for words! Hallelujah! Words cannot describe, His acts cannot speak of all that He truly is. Glory to God. Holy, Holy Holy is the Lord God Almighty! Take a praise break! Hallelujah! Glory to His Name!

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and He is the one whom Timothy, Silas, and I have preached to you—and He has never been both a “yes” and a “no.” He has always been and always will be for us a resounding “YES!” For all of God’s promises find their “yes” of fulfillment in Him. And as His “yes” and our “amen” ascend to God, we bring Him glory!”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭1:19-20‬ ‭TPT‬‬

In Jesus Christ and as His children we have received His yes. Maybe you’re already wealthy, but are you sick in your body? Maybe you’re healthy but are you lacking material blessings? Maybe you’re lonely, are you lacking good godly relationships? Maybe you’re the life of the party having more friends than you can handle, but are you an emotional wreck? Being blessed is not limited to finances. Prosperity isn’t always a sign of amassing wealth. Being blessed in every area of our lives is what “every or all” spiritual blessings is all about. God wants us prospering because it demonstrates to the world that our Father is good. If you’re well put together and your children look like orphans, what does that say about you as a parent?

We’re not trying to be blessed, we already are. We don’t have to fake it till we make it. There’s nothing fake about the promises of God. We just need to grow up and accept who God says we are. What’s an heir? Someone who is legally entitled to the property or rank of another. Jesus has done that for us. He’s brought us into His family and declared that we have access to all the blessings of sonship. Why eat cheese and crackers when there’s a smorgasbord? Why live like a servant when you’re an heir? Listen, we’re given choices in life. You have not, because you ask not. Believe His Word, claim His promises, live the blessed life. You were born (again) blessed.

Bring Him Glory by living the blessed life. Stop struggling to become who you already are. Believe the Word of God and enter into, receive and live your life through faith in Jesus’ finished work. Let’s read this verse out loud together, ready? Read:

Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of His love will become the very source and root of your life.” Ephesians‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Glory hallelujah!! That’s how we live the blessed life! Our problem is unbelief! We pick and choose instead of believing everything God says about us!! I’ll close with this next verse. If you’re not fired up your spiritual wood is wet!

We are reborn into a perfect inheritance that can never perish, never be defiled, and never diminish. It is promised and preserved forever in the heavenly realm for you!” 1 Peter‬ ‭1:4‬ ‭TPT‬‬
