12/30/21-WE’RE IN THE KNOW

“I have told you this so that you would not surrender to confusion or doubt. For you will be excommunicated from the synagogues, and a time is coming when you will be put to death by misguided ones who will presume to be doing God a great service by putting you to death. And they will do these things because they don’t know anything about the Father or Me. I’m telling you this now so that when their time comes you will remember that I foretold it. I didn’t tell you this in the beginning because I was still with you. But now that I’m about to leave you and go back to join the One who sent Me, you need to be told. Yet, not one of you are asking Me where I’m going. Instead your hearts are filled with sadness because I’ve told you these things. But here’s the truth: It’s to your advantage that I go away, for if I don’t go away the Divine Encourager will not be released to you. But after I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He comes, He will expose sin and prove that the world is wrong about God’s righteousness and His judgments. “ ‘Sin,’ because they refuse to believe in who I Am. “God’s ‘righteousness,’ because I’m going back to join the Father and you’ll see Me no longer. “And ‘judgment’ because the ruler of this dark world has already received his sentence. “There is so much more I would like to say to you, but it’s more than you can grasp at this moment. But when the truth-giving Spirit comes, He will unveil the reality of every truth within you. He won’t speak on His own, but only what He hears from the Father, and He will reveal prophetically to you what is to come.”

‭‭John‬ ‭16:1-13‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Saints of God, Jesus said we’re in the know. The Spirit of Truth has been given to every child of God who believes and knows the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Jesus said I’m telling you these things beforehand, and what you cannot handle at the moment, when you receive the Holy Spirit, He will fill in the gaps. He will take it even further by revealing things yet to come. We are in the know.

We are the only group of people who shouldn’t be surprised by world events. The Word of God, and those who He has chosen to be His prophetic voices, should be warning of things to come. In the early days of the Church a prophet named Agabus did just that. It didn’t prevent what was to come, but the Church was prepared.

“At that time there were prophets in the church of Jerusalem, and some of them came to Antioch. One of them, named Agabus, stood up in one of the meetings and prophesied by the Holy Spirit that a severe famine was about to come over Israel. (This prophecy was fulfilled during the reign of Claudius Caesar.) So they determined that each believer, according to his or her ability, would give an offering to send as relief to the brothers living in Judea. They set aside the gifts and entrusted the funds to Barnabas and Saul to take to the elders of the church in Jerusalem.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:27-30‬ ‭TPT‬‬

The Spirit of Truth made sure that the Church of Jesus Christ was in the know. They were able to prepare in advance help for those who would be affected. Why aren’t we experiencing true prophecy today? Agabus wasn’t seeking recognition, he didn’t call for the cameras, the Spirit brought revelation and the Church responded among themselves, no Go Fund Me, the Church took care of their own. God does not appeal to the world to support His Church, He appeals to us. The prophets of today, so called, seek the limelight. In doing so, God leaves them to their own devices. Nothing they have said has manifested. True prophecy must come to pass.

I heard someone say that if Jesus is the way we will never be lost, if He’s the Truth we can never be deceived and if He’s the life the devil can’t kill us. I agree wholeheartedly. He said we’re in the know. So we should always be aware of what’s happening around us. We should be receiving heavenly downloads from the Spirit of Truth all the time. I’ve maintained that if we should read the daily news and the Bible we’d discover that what we think is news is old news. God has already foretold what is to come. Instead of the daily diet of doubt, unbelief and fear that the news media peddle twenty four hours a day, why not invest your time studying the truths of scripture? It’s all there. The Spirit of Truth will guide those who want to be in the know. It’s a promise from Jesus. Go read verse John 16:13 again.

Are you in the know? Or are you always shocked and surprised by what you see and hear? Raise your spiritual antenna, get the right frequency and cut off the static. Get the wax out of your spiritual ears, turn up the volume of the Spirit of Truth. Let Him be your news of the day. Let the Word be your daily diet. As we are attentive to the Word we will hear His voice and receive the revelation of things to come. If we’re in the dark spiritually it’s by choice. We were not left ill prepared. Jesus sent us the Promise, but He’s the most ignored help by the Church. Jesus isn’t here, the Bible says He’s seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven. But He has sent us His Spirit to be both in us and with us. He’s been given to guide us into all truth, everything that pertains to this life and the life to come.

We’ve made everything so spiritual that we miss the day to day. The things we face in this life are just as concerning to the Lord as our spiritual development is. He wants to guide us in all truths concerning our health, our relationships, our finances and our emotional well-being. We are the billboards for all the things I’ve mentioned to an onlooking world. They’re seeking authenticity and clarity to the claims we make. They’re looking for the fruit of what we call Truth. If we’re not experiencing His fullness, if we’re not receiving revelation of biblical teachings, not understanding or putting into practice what we are being taught, then we are not giving place to the Spirit of Truth to do what He was sent to do.

Where are you in your walk with Jesus? He reveals His secrets to those He considers friends. His friends are in the know. He told His disciples that He tells them everything the Father tells Him. That’s definitely being in the know. We weren’t there, but He has done one better for us who have believed without seeing. He’s given us another like Himself, and everything the Father tells Jesus, Jesus tells the Holy Spirit who in turn tells us all things for the present and the future. Yes my friends! We’re definitely in the know.
